Received this from Wayne Thompson of the Perry RC Flyers:

We would like to invite everyone to the Perry RC Flyers Night Fly on March 4th after the Southeastern Model show closes. The Field is only 4 miles from the AG center on Hwy 41. There will be open flying for all that come. No field fees, AMA only, Lots of parking, Barbecue.

Come out and test fly all the new airplanes and helicopters that you buy at the show. Last year we had this fly-in on Friday and Saturday after the show with a good turnout. Everyone that has come to attend the show needs some good night time RC activity. Hope that this year the Perry RC Flyers can help everyone with this.

This is a reminder that the Southeastern Model Show is this Friday and Saturday (March 4 and 5). Setup starts at 9 AM Friday morning with the doors opening to the public at 1 PM and staying open until 7 PM. Saturday's hours are 8 AM to 5 PM.

The hobby shop will be closed both Friday and Saturday. We will reopen next Tuesday as usual.

I have put two new events on the calendar. First is a pylon race the last Saturday of this month (March 26). Then we have a Glider Day scheduled for Saturday July 9. We've had a couple of these and they are a lot of fun. No competition....just bring any type of glider or sailplane and have fun.

The Heli Fly-In this past weekend was a great success. We had a good turnout and couldn't have had better weather. Thanks to Scott Anderson for putting the event together and running the show. Also thanks to Matt Botos for coming and bringing guys from Atlanta.

We got the new little Mosquito Ultra Micro fighter in today from Parkzone. This should be a great flying little twin engine plane. BNF for only $119.99.

See you this weekend, Mac

This weekend Hodges Hobbies is hosting the 1st Annual Heli Fun Fly Birthday Bash here at the shop. This will be a Friday thru Sunday affair (February 25, 26, and 27). For info, the CD is Scott Anderson - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The following Friday and Saturday (March 4 and 5) is the date for the Southeastern Model Show at the fairgrounds in Perry, Ga.

We had scheduled a full scale Cub fly-in for August but have now moved it up to April. The new date is Saturday, April 9, the weekend before SEFF.

We have a good selection of the Venom MicroJets in stock and they have been very popular. They are only $85 and are complete except for receiver.

Take care, Mac

  Greetings from Hodges Hobbies

Last Saturday's race saw some of the best weather this year. Due to other events happening on the same day most of our Club 40 guys were not able to come so we didn't have enough entrants for a Club 40 race. We had a nice turnout in the 424 class and everyone had a good time. That is, except the guys involved in a couple of midairs. And they even had a good time up until that point.

The winners were:

1. Bob Brogdon

2. Mac Hodges

3. Dave Torre

This Saturday the Dublin gang, the Emerald City Flyers, are having a fly-in at their club field in Dudley Ga. For directions, go to http://www.emeraldcityflyers.com/ .

The Sowega Model Boaters are having a big year end race this Saturday and Sunday at their club pond near Sycamore Ga. For info and directions, go to http://www.sowegamodelboaters.com .

Take care, Mac

The Race Is On! It looks as if we have enough racers for 424 but not for Club 40 so we will only be racing 424 tomorrow. And since we don't have the Club 40 guys to help man the clocks and lights, it becomes more imperative that we have some outside help. So if anyone can come and help us out for a few hours, please give us a call today and let us know. With only one class to run we should be finished by early afternoon and you will receive a gallon of fuel for your efforts and pizza for lunch. Thanks in advance!

See you tomorrow, Mac
